Sewing machine Warranty, Guarantee and Servicing Information 

Unless otherwise stated, all sewing machines and overlockers that we sell are brand new and will have a full manufacturer’s warranty. Product registration may be required and recommended to gain full benefits of any warranty; you must register within 30 days.

Warranty Period

What is covered under your warranty? Genuine faults as stated in the manufacturers guarantee.

What’s not covered? Wilful damage, misuse or repairs made necessary by overuse or commercial use. Consumable items (e.g. belts, bulbs, threaders and needles etc.) are not covered. 

We will give all new machines an inspection and a sewing test before delivery. This will give you confidence that your machine will get to you ready to use straight away. 

Warranty Returns

In the rare case that your sewing machine does develop a fault covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, you must contact us and we can sanction a return to us at no cost to you. This offer only covers the UK mainland. Please email or phone first, as all repairs/returns must be authorised prior to being sent.

All returns must be in the original packaging materials and we advise that you retain this packaging. We cannot be held responsible for any damages caused in transit if the sewing machine is not in its original packaging.

This does not affect your statutory consumer rights and will apply only to sewing machines purchased for use in the UK mainland and used for normal domestic purposes.  Consumable items (e.g. belts, bulbs, threaders and needles etc.) are not covered. 

We find that problems with sewing machines and overlockers are often down to ‘user error’. When you buy a machine from us, you can email or phone us for advice, however the first point of call should be the instruction manual.

Cancellation And Returns

Under UK consumer regulations you have the right to cancel your purchase  within 14 days without giving a reason. In order to cancel you must Inform us of your intent (in writing) to return your goods within 14 calendar days of the date that the goods were delivered. You must return the item at your expense in the condition that they were supplied, in the original packaging, complete with all parts and in ‘as new’ condition. 

If any of these conditions are not met, under the Consumer Rights Directive IP/08/1474 we can reduce the amount of money refunded for goods returned which show evidence of use beyond the handling necessary to see whether the goods are as expected. Goods must be returned with the original box, packing and all accessories. If the product has been devalued a charge may be made to bring the item back to as new condition

Please note that any cancellation of contract should be made in writing. We will always ask for a cancellation to be made in writing. 

We strongly recommend, when you return the sewing machine at your expense, you use a recorded and insured delivery service as we regret we cannot be held responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit or any return costs.

Faulty Products

Under  the Sale of Goods Act you may have the right for repair, replacement or refund of faulty goods. This right extends for 6 months from the date of receipt. Accidental damage or faults arising from misuse, user error or normal wear and tear are not covered. 

You are responsible for the cost of sending the machine back to us. We strongly recommend, when you return the product at your expense, you use a recorded and insured delivery service as we regret we cannot be held responsible for goods lost or damaged in transit or any return costs. 

We will have inspected and tested your machine before sending it to you – as such we may ask for proof that the machine is faulty before you return it. 

In the case of returns where a machine has developed a fault, we will happily accept the return for a refund or repair, once it has been inspected. However, the returned item must be complete with all accessories and original packaging. In the case of a refund, any costs relating to shortage of contents, damage and bringing the product back to the condition when it was supplied, will be redeemed from any refund amount.
