Double Eye Sewing Machine Needles Schmetz Size 80/12

The Double Eye Needle has two eyes and is designed for sewing with 2 upper threads (needle threads). It can therefore be used to create decorative effects when quilting and when using decorative stitches. When using top threads of the same colour, the seam is thicker and therefore attracts more attention, creating an effect similar to when using a thicker thread. You can create unique highlights with the Double Eye Needle when using sewing threads in different colours or using multi-coloured threads: Because there are two eyes, the sequence of the threads is always fixed unlike when using two threads in one eye. This is particularly attractive when using decorative stitches.

NOTE – please note that the automatic needle threader does not work with the Double Eye Needle. The bottom thread spool is inserted as normal, just like with other needles.

NOTE – if the stitch is too wide the upper thread may not stitch – if this happens reduce the width of the stitch and test until the upper thread stitches properly.

NOTE – the use of sewing needles on different fabrics is not an exact science. Any problems with the quality of your stitch may mean you need to try a different type of needle for your sewing project.

NOTE – we deal with a number of suppliers, some send the needles on a card and some don’t. You may receive the needles either way – be sure though that they are all the same Schmetz quality!
