Getting Started With Your Sewing Machine

An introduction to getting started with your sewing machine, and how to get the most out of your machine.

Who Can Take This Class: Complete beginners or sewists lacking confidence with using their machine.This class is also available to those without a sewing machine who would like to start sewing (sewing machines available for use).

What Will I Learn: In this class you will learn how to thread up, wind the bobbin and start sewing on a sewing machine. You will try out different stitch selections and some of the most common features on the machines. You will also look at sewing problems, machine tensions etc. and how to solve them. You may want to make notes and there will also be handouts with details of needle types and how to resolve the most common issues you may have with a sewing machine

What Will I Make: A sample of various stitch types.

What Do I Need To Bring: You will need to bring your own sewing machine, or use one of ours, (please advise when booking). Fabric and threads are included.
