7oz Very Dark Blue Denim — Grainy Plain Weave

A very dark blue — almost black when viewed indoors — lightweight cotton denim with an unusual grainy plain weave rather than the diagonal twill you normally expect from denim. The plain weave gives a flatter, more matte surface and a slightly different texture to standard denim cloth.

Weight & Body: 7.4oz, 155cm wide, 100% Cotton — plain weave, not twill.

Best For: Shirts, lightweight jackets, blouses, and dresses where a near-black denim in a lighter weight is wanted.

Sewing Recommendations: Use a sharp needle (70/10–80/12) or a light denim needle for this weight. The plain weave is finer than twill — handle carefully when cutting and sewing.

This fabric is sold by the half metre — order 2 for 1 metre, 3 for 1.5 metres; multiple units cut as one continuous length.
